The Mini Cooper S models were in first place at the Monte Carlo Rally from 1964 to 1967!
But in 1966, the three BMC Minis of Timo Mäkinen, Rauno Aaltonen and Paddy Hopkirk, who finished in that order in the first three places, were all disqualified for lighting that did not conform to the new Group 1 regulations...
